"Engraving poetry, prose and prayer into the important things we wear.."
- Gisele Theriault
I hold great fascination for the studies of Japanese Scientist Masura Emoto on the effect of thought and emotion on water.
Emoto's research has visually captured the structure of water at the moment of freezing, and through high-speed photography
he has shown the direct consequences of destructive thoughts and the thoughts of love and appreciation on the formation of
water crystals. The revelation that our thoughts can influence water has profound implications for our health and the well being
of the planet. For more information on the work of Dr. Emoto go to: www.life-enthusiast.com
If our bodies are over 70% water, these engravings add meaning, even an empowering effect.

I hope the inspiration from this glass comes through me to you.
- Gisele Theriault
Since ancient times man has paid an almost mystic- attention to glass, attributing something magical and supernatural to this transparent material. Magicians of legend could predict the future by gazing into a crystal sphere, chemists and alchemists studied prisms in search of a stone which would turn metal into gold, magic that was born in flames and like that fire that gave life to the popular belief of the Phoenix. As the mythological bird with the golden plumes, glass is synonymous with beauty.
Still today, for the visitors who go to Murano, the same scenes which inspired writers and legends are represented. In fact the furnace structures have remained unaltered over time and new technology is seen only in small details. As far as the history of glass-blowing in Venice, Time seems to have stopped for over a thousand years. The glass masters "battono" has made Murano one of the centers of Venetian commerce. These are the same glass-blower’s pipes and instruments forged in the machine shops built up over the island. The origins of the art of glass blowing in Venice go back to before the first millennium.
My jewellery is inspired by This Venetian Glass and is created in sterling silver and may be accented with semi-precious stones.
